Queensland Beekeepers Association

Who Are We?

Founded in 1886, the Queensland Beekeepers’ Association (QBA) is the peak industry body representing commercial and recreational beekeepers across Queensland. With more than 9,000 registered beekeepers in the state, we proudly advocate for the health, protection and growth of Queensland’s honey bee industry.

What We Do

The Queensland honey bee industry contributes more than $2.89b to the Queensland economy each year. Much of the economic contribution is through the increasing demand for honey beehives that provide critical pollination to Queensland’s agricultural sector. Queensland beekeepers currently provide honey bees for professional pollination services to the Australian almond, avocado, apple, berry, cherry, macadamia, melon, pear and pumpkin industries just to name a few.

The Queensland honey bee industry is also well known for producing some of Australia’s finest honey. Unique honey varieties such as yellow box, ironbark, river red gum, blue gum and yapunyah are all well known products proudly produced by our hard-working bees under the care of their beekeepers.

SPONSORS

Current QBA Sponsors

We acknowledge and thank the businesses that support the Queensland Beekeepers’ Association through sponsorship of our annual conference.

Conference sponsorships contribute directly to the delivery of the event and, in return, provide sponsors with visibility and exposure to beekeepers from across Queensland. This support helps ensure the conference remains accessible, practical, and valuable for attendees.

We encourage beekeepers to engage with and support the businesses that participate in and support our annual conference.
